About

Seattle’s music scene has always been a breeding ground for raw, undeniable talent, and Kim Virant is no exception. With a voice that’s equal parts fire and velvet, she first made waves in the '90s as the powerhouse frontwoman of Lazy Susan, a band that brought a gritty-yet-melodic edge to the local rock landscape. They shared stages with Seattle legends like Pearl Jam, earning Virant a reputation as a dynamic performer with an unmistakable presence.
When the band parted ways, she didn’t just fade into nostalgia—she evolved. Embracing her roots in Americana and alt-country, she carved out a solo career defined by evocative lyrics and a voice that can soothe as easily as it can shake you to your core. Often compared to Natalie Merchant and Stevie Nicks, Kim’s sound is organic, lived-in, and unapologetically heartfelt. Her music carries the pulse of Seattle’s ever-changing sound, proving that while eras shift, true artistry never dims.

Adding to her impressive resume, Kim has had the honor of opening for rock legends Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, X, and Joan Jett - a testament to her commanding presence and musical prowess. Sharing a stage with such iconic figures only solidified her reputation as one of Seattle’s most compelling voices.

She has the good fortune to play with amazingly talented musicians: Chris Friel/drums, Gary Westlake/guitar, Jeff Rouse/bass, Max Rose/sax & guitar,  Kathy Moore/guitar & piano
